15,000 Red Miles Tour - 2005

If I ever owned a GT car, I’d do stuff like this. Ridiculous long distance journeys in comfort and with plenty of speed when there’s actual roads.
One thing I’d really like to do is drive all the way up from the north coast of Alaska, through Yukon, through the Northwest Territories, and then down all the way south to Central America.

If by GT car you mean a Crown Vic, I’m with ya.

Why Crown Vic when you can Marauder?

If I went, and tried to keep up with a fast GT car, I’d be stopping for gas every 150 miles.

That’s why you convert your GT car into a ute and use the newfound space for auxillary tanks!
Besides, you’d need them anyways, not many gas stations in the extreme northern bit of North America.

I think I have the magazine that made an article on it. I hadn’t realised what an amazing achievement that was back then.

A little too nice. It might not come home. Maybe a cheap ex-service Crown Vic with bullet-proofing...

I think EVO did a story.

Must not be too reliable when each car needs a wagon full of mechanics and a van full of parts.

Not sure how well they did. I can image Ferrari would at least double their efforts to ensure there were no real hiccups. Think I might pull the EVO Mag and give it a read again.

was it that long ago?

I believe it was an Evo magazine, I’ll have to double check.
